A focus on Possibility
Brigitte, a specialist in facial reconstruction, approaches her work with a powerful mindset: “I look at what I can do, not what I can’t do.” This philosophy extends to her patients, offering them not just physical restoration but a renewed sense of self-assurance.
Ingrid’s Journey to Optimism
Brigitte is currently working with Ingrid, a patient who underwent a complex medical process due to a recurring facial tumor. Ingrid lost her upper lip adn part of her nose, which were later reconstructed using skin from her arm-a procedure that fascinated Beau, an observer of the treatment.
The initial recovery period was challenging for Ingrid, who initially covered her face with gauze to avoid startling others.Despite this, she maintained a positive outlook, playfully referring to her appearance as a “Mickey Mouse face.” Her resilience and positive attitude deeply impacted Beau.
During treatment sessions, Ingrid is able to converse comfortably as Brigitte carefully restores her lip.Ingrid notes that it now feels “a bit like a graze,” demonstrating visible satisfaction with the progress.
An Unusual Path to a Unique Skillset
Brigitte’s specialized work is the result of a unique career trajectory. She initially aspired to be a plastic surgeon but ultimately pursued art school when that didn’t materialize. She successfully combined her medical knowledge with her creative talents, stating,”You can really bring something really nice to everyone.”
