Beauharnois-Salaberry MRC Announces Support for Seven Cultural Projects
The projects aim to diversify cultural offerings across the region in 2025.

The Beauharnois-salaberry MRC has announced the seven projects selected to receive funding through its cultural initiatives program. The program supports artistic and heritage projects within the region.
These projects will contribute to the diversification of the cultural offer on our territory in 2025. Activities are planned in each of the seven municipalities, for the benefit of all citizens,
said Éric Filiatreault, president of the MRC Culture Council.
The cultural initiatives represent an investment of $40,000, demonstrating the MRC’s commitment to its cultural community as a vital component of regional identity and development.
The Selected Projects:
- André Desrochers will present special screenings of his film, Trees and arts, with appearances by representatives from the International Observatory for Nature Rights and artists involved in the film’s production.
- Audrée Bourdeau and Line Desrochers will collaborate on The Flight of the ABC,a co-production of artworks depicting the region’s native flora. The project includes mediation and training workshops, creation residencies, and exhibitions.
- Dominique letarte will lead a collective of amateur photographers to showcase the region’s farms. The project will archive images of rural life, with a selection to be displayed at the Beauharnois-Salaberry Regional Park in the fall. A publication of the works will follow in the winter.
- Manon Desserres’ project, Light Space, will introduce participants to the art of faux stained glass through workshops held at the open area in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and at the Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague church.
- Pointe-du-buisson,Quebec Museum of Archeology,will present Archaeo-Camp,offering day camp participants from rural MRC municipalities the prospect to handle Aboriginal tools and learn pottery manufacturing techniques.
- The History Society of Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague will exhibit grinders from the Moulin boyer in a public space.An interpretive panel will accompany the artifact,and a guided tour will be offered during the inauguration.
- The Sainte-Martine Heritage Society will create meanwhile: Game Will Remember Me, an exhibition covering the period from the 16th century to the present day. The exhibition will include guided tours and the creation of a board game.
