Beauty Costs in Relationships: Budgeting for Attraction
The Game’s Comments on women’s Beauty Costs Spark Debate Amid Shaniece Hairston Split
Los Angeles—Rapper The Game ignited a social media debate after suggesting men should only pursue relationships if they can afford the “bare minimum” beauty maintenance for women. His comments surfaced amid reports that he and Shaniece Hairston, mother of his youngest son, have split.
In a recent post, The Game listed expenses such as lashes ($200), hair ($300), nails ($250), makeup and toes ($200), suggesting thes were bi-weekly essentials. He also included “lunch money” at $500 and another $500 for drinks with friends, plus $1,000 for a Labubu, sparking widespread reactions.
Social media users quickly weighed in on The Shade Room’s Instagram post about the rapper’s comments. One user wrote, “I swear it’s more to life than these convos.” Another joked about only seeking commitment, while others questioned the prices, especially the $200 for toes.
Some users criticized The Game directly. One commenter suggested he should be “settled down & fussing over whats for dinner,” while another advised, “Stop dating women outside of your price range. Simple.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Hairston recently announced on her new podcast, ‘Drop The Lo,’ that she is now a single mother. She shares a son, Blaze Taylor, with The Game. Hairston discussed the insecurities of dating as a mom with her own mother, Evelyn Lozada.
Neither the Game nor hairston have publicly addressed the reasons for their split.
