CHICAGO (AP) — chicago Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard addressed speculation about his satisfaction with the team, stating Thursday that his demeanor might be misinterpreted.
“I’m a pretty quiet guy, and if I looked a little sad on the bench, maybe people took it out of context,” Bedard said, reflecting on the Blackhawks’ season. “I’ve said it manny times: I love playing here, the city and the people.”
Bedard acknowledged the team’s rebuilding phase. “If you get the first overall pick, you’re probably not going to win the Stanley Cup in the next couple of years. You have to understand where you’re at.You go out there to win every game, but ultimately, you know you’re in a development and learning process. It’s an exciting time. When you loose, it makes winning that much better when you finaly get it. We’re excited for that.”
