Beethoven Takes Center Stage: Miki Kato’s Highly-Anticipated Solo Concert Series

Miki Kato’s solo concert “Series Concert with Beethoven…<>” will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 and Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Takagi Clavia Shoto Salon in Tokyo.

Beethoven lived in a turbulent Europe from the late 18th century to the 19th century. All the musicians of that time felt that he was a special musician. Each time in this series, we will focus on composers who lived and were involved with Beethoven. Enjoy the sound of the Viennese piano (made by Johann Kramer, around 1825) while listening to the commentary.

After graduating from the Department of Musical Science, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, he completed the fortepiano major in the Department of Early Music, Tokyo University of the Arts.
Upon completion of his studies, he received the Graduate School Acanthus Award, which is the top award. He also completed the harpsichord course at the same university.

He performs a wide range of activities, including modern piano, fortepiano, harpsichord, ensemble and vocal accompaniment. Currently, he is an assistant piano accompanist at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, a lecturer in the private middle and high school music department, and a lecturer in the advanced piano and fortepiano department at the Western Conservatory of Music.In addition to teaching younger students, he also teaches music seminars for general companies.
