However, recently the case took an unexpected turn, as Castillo has been sue for libel and slanderunder the argument that the data and dates presented do not match the facts reported. Despite this, there is photographic evidence that shows their working relationship.
In an interview with Blu Radio, Carolina Valencia Bernal, who was Morris’ private secretary between 2015 and 2019, confirmed that Lina Castillo was part of Morris’ work teamalthough not officially. “Lina was part of the work team,” explained Valencia, who ensured that Castillo actively collaborated on relevant office issues, such as the Bogotá metro debate.
Valencia revealed that Castillo had established a verbal agreement with Morris, who promised to help him with his university tuition. “She supported the office in 2016 and a little more in 2017-2018,” he said, describing Lina as an active collaborator on various administrative matters.
However, Valencia also reported inappropriate behavior by Morris and other men on the team. He reported situations of verbal and physical harassment, including sexual comments and touching. “Lina was very unhealthy in that office. Not just Hollman, but other men too. I saw how they touched her legs in a restaurant, a fact Lina had already reported.or,” he said.
The former secretary lamented that many women in the office did not feel safe to report these behaviors at the time, which resulted in many leaving “in silence.” This situation changed with the complaints of Morris’ ex-wife, Patricia Casas, and Castillo, who received threats on social networks even after making her accusations public.
Valencia shared her experience of working in a hostile environment, describing it as “hell” due to the normalization of inappropriate attitudes and harassment in the workplace. “It was suffocating and disgusting, there was a very morbid atmosphere. It was a real nightmare”, he concluded.
