Tap dancer Luke Hickey joined the cast of The Bride! after artistic director and choreographer Michelle Dorrance recommended him following a Dorrance Dance rehearsal in New York City. Hickey subsequently auditioned for director Maggie Gyllenhaal and was cast as the dance double for the character Ronnie Reed, portrayed on screen by Jake Gyllenhaal. Hickey spent six weeks working with Dorrance before shooting the dance scenes in Brooklyn.
