According to a corporate disclosure issued by Telkom on May 5, 2026, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been conducting an investigation into the company since October 2023.
The SEC probe initially focused on documents related to the BAKTI Kominfo project before expanding to include issues surrounding accounting, disclosures, and internal pengendalian (controls).
the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has requested information from Telkom since May 2024 regarding the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Telkom has acknowledged that it is subject to U.S. Capital market regulations because its shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
The regulatory scrutiny has coincided with an internal evaluation of the company’s assets, specifically regarding drop cable and last mile infrastructure.
Telkom has concluded that a change in accounting policy is required, which will be applied retrospectively to the 2025 fiscal year report.
This retrospective application will involve revising the comparative financial information for the 2023 and 2024 fiscal years.
Due to the ongoing evaluation process, Telkom submitted a Notification of Late Filing to the SEC on April 30, 2026.
The company requested additional time to submit its Form 20-F annual report for 2025.
In response to these governance and regulatory issues, Telkom has implemented several structural changes to its internal oversight.
The company has established a dedicated Legal &. Compliance Directorate and appointed a Chief Integrity Officer (CIO) to strengthen its corporate governance framework.
These developments come as BEI continues to demand deep explanations from the company to ensure transparency for shareholders on the Indonesian market.
