Taipei City Sports Bureau to Conduct Performance Evaluation
(Central News Agency reporter Chen Yuting, Taipei, the 25th) There are frequent reports of water leaks in the Taipei Arena. The Taipei City Sports Bureau said today that according to the agreement, an operational performance evaluation meeting will be set up at the end of the year and the evaluation will be conducted in September next year, and water leakage defects will be included in the evaluation.
DPP Taipei City Councilor Xu Shuhua yesterday questioned whether the city government only needs Farglory to improve the water leakage in a period of time, which is not at all painful for the consortium.
The Taipei City Sports Bureau issued a press release today saying that according to the arena’s construction and operation contract, the city government will form a committee later this year to conduct inspections in the first quarter of next year and begin an overall evaluation in September, including evaluations if consecutive. If the score falls below 70 for two years, FarGlory may be terminated from the contract.
The Sports Bureau pointed out that the dome is a BOT venue, and FarGlory is responsible for its proper maintenance and operation, but the water leakage problem has not been fixed for a long time, which has affected the viewing rights of fans. Public confidence in public construction, as the supervisory unit, must urge hard to ameliorate deficiencies.
The Sports Bureau said it has strictly instructed Farglory to prioritize the serious large-scale water leak and the improvement of areas used for National Day events before October 4 and complete extensive repairs before the end of October, so that no more water leaks occur.
