Explosions in Beirut: Over 1,000 Injured, Including Hezbollah Fighters and Iranian Ambassador

Chaos erupted in Beirut on Tuesday after hundreds of members of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah, including fighters and medics, were seriously injured when their communicators exploded, according to a source within the security services cited by Reuters.
The wave of explosions continued for about an hour after the initial firings, which occurred at around 15:45 local time (13:45 GMT). The cause of the explosions is still unclear.
The incident occurred amid intense attacks between Israeli forces and those of Hezbollah, which has been launching drone and missile strikes across the border between Israel and Lebanon.
Iran’s Ambassador to Beirut Injured in Explosion
Iran’s ambassador to Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, was also injured in the explosion. The incident occurred simultaneously among several strongholds of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah group in Lebanon, resulting in hundreds of injuries, Iranian state television announced on Tuesday.
According to Iranian state television, the ambassador is conscious and there is no danger to his life. However, the extent of his injuries is still unknown.
Lebanese Government Responds to Crisis
The Lebanese government’s emergency operations center has asked all medical workers to report to their facilities to help manage the huge number of people presenting for emergency care.
The center under the Ministry of Health has also warned workers to stop using the pagers and to leave them immediately.
Hezbollah Official Speaks Out
A Hezbollah official stated that the callers’ lithium batteries would have exploded, causing the injuries.
The Lebanese government holds Israel responsible for the explosions and considers it a violation of Lebanese sovereignty, a spokesman for the Lebanese government said.
Death Toll and Injuries Rise
At least 8 people have died and more than 2,750 others, including several fighters of the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, doctors, and the Iranian ambassador in Beirut, were injured in the explosions.
The situation in Beirut remains tense, with the Lebanese government and Hezbollah officials condemning the attacks and calling for calm.
