Israeli Air Strike Targets High-Rise Building in Beirut
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have conducted an air strike on a high-rise building in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, resulting in multiple civilian injuries.
An IDF spokesman confirmed the attack, stating that it was carried out by an F-35 fighter jet. The strike hit one of the busiest areas of the city, prompting the closure of the surrounding streets for security reasons.
According to reports, a member of Hezbollah’s leadership was killed in the attack. Although the individual’s name and position have not been disclosed, Israeli television channel Channel 12 suggests that the target was Ibrahim Aqil, the group’s special operations manager.
This incident is part of a series of strikes by the IDF against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force has also launched a series of massive attacks on southern Lebanon, targeting around 100 launchers and other Hezbollah infrastructure facilities within a two-hour period.
