According to the Tabernacle Choir, the 32-member handbell choir performs under the direction of Conductor Geoff Anderson and Associate Conductor Mat Ulmer. The musicians utilize two 7-octave sets of English handbells and handchimes for the evening’s program. The setlist blends patriotic works, contemporary pieces, and jazz standards. The program features the traditional work God of Our Fathers alongside John Philip Sousa’s march Semper Fidelis, which marks the 250th anniversary of the United States. Other musical selections include Fred Gramann’s Everlasting Light, Jason Krug’s Escape Velocity and Pale Blue Dot, and Elizabeth Peters’s São Paulo. The ensemble will also perform the jazz standards Take the ‘A’ Train and Fly Me to the Moon, alongside Alex Guebert’s Determination, a piece highlighting themes of courage and strength.

According to the Tabernacle Choir, admission to the June 12 concert is free, but tickets are required for entry. Attendees aged 8 and older may obtain tickets on a first-come, first-served basis through mpv.tickets.com or the official Tabernacle Choir website. Because events at the historic venue tend to sell out quickly, organizers recommend securing tickets early. Guests may access the Salt Lake Tabernacle through the North, South, or West gates. For those unable to secure a seat, a standby line will be available at the venue. Ensemble Background and Venue History

According to the Tabernacle Choir, the Bells at Temple Square were organized in March 2005 as an extension of the broader Tabernacle Choir organization. Similar to the performers in the Tabernacle Choir, the Orchestra at Temple Square, and the Temple Square Chorale, the handbell musicians serve entirely as volunteers. Over the past two decades, the ensemble has built a national reputation, appearing at conferences held by the Handbell Musicians of America and augmenting recordings and annual Christmas concerts for the main choir.
