Dan Hennessey, a well-known Canadian voice actor, has passed away. He died in his sleep at home due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. His family shared this news with TMZ.
Hennessey is recognized for his work voicing several beloved characters. He voiced Chief Quimby in Inspector Gadget, George Raccoon in The Raccoons, Father Bear in Little Bear, and Braveheart in The Care Bears. Fans have certainly heard his voice in these roles.
In addition to these characters, Hennessey provided voices for many others in shows like RoboCop, Babar, Beetlejuice, and X-Men: The Animated Series.
His family remembers him as “an incredible son, brother, husband, father, friend, and performer.” They noted the impact he had through his craft. They expressed gratitude for the messages from those who appreciated his work, stating he gave comfort to many children worldwide through his roles as Braveheart Lion and Father Bear.
The family emphasized that Hennessey’s spirit and contributions to voice acting would live on. They honored his legacy, saying, “He truly was the bravest heart we knew.”
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, and daughters Skye and Eden. The family requests that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in his memory.
