Askren, 40, was⁤ hospitalized in wisconsin after contracting pneumonia following a staph infection.⁢ He was in critical condition and on a ventilator.

“We ‍are so thankful ​to share that Ben has received ⁣a double lung transplant,” Amy Askren⁢ wrote in a social media post. She expressed deep gratitude to the ​donor and their family. “This is the begining of a new lifestyle for Ben, but every new‌ day he has is​ a gift.”
