Sport Lisboa e Benfica and adidas have agreed to a six-year partnership extension through 2033, securing what sources close to the negotiations value at approximately €120 million. According to joint statements from the club and the sportswear manufacturer released on Monday, September 14, 2026, the deal represents the biggest sponsorship agreement in the history of Portuguese football.
The agreement extends an uninterrupted technical partnership that dates back to the 1997/98 season, following an earlier stint between the 1983/84 and 1989/90 campaigns. By the time the current renewal concludes in 2033, the collaboration will span 36 continuous seasons. While neither Benfica nor adidas officially disclosed financial figures in their joint announcement, sources close to the arrangement confirmed the €120 million valuation to reporters.
Renaming the Seixal Training Facility
A central component of the expanded contract grants adidas the naming rights to Benfica’s youth development and training center in Seixal. The facility has been officially renamed the adidas Benfica Campus.
The rebranding coincides with the 20th anniversary of the complex, which originally opened in 2006. Benfica and adidas integrated this milestone into the visual identity of the club’s 2026/27 kit rollout, featuring design tributes on both the home and third shirts.
Leadership Perspectives on the Long-Term Deal
Benfica President Rui Costa emphasized the historic nature of the alliance during the announcement.

Extending this partnership moves forward a deep bond founded on mutual trust, core principles, and an enduring drive for excellence.

Historical Milestones of the Benfica-Adidas Relationship
Throughout the collaboration, the partnership has outfitted the club during several landmark domestic triumphs. Among the standout uniforms created by adidas are the commemorative jerseys from the 2004/05 centenary year—which coincided with Benfica capturing the national championship—alongside the strip worn in the 2016/17 season that secured the club’s inaugural four consecutive league crowns.
As one of Portugal's "Big Three" clubs alongside FC Porto and Sporting CP, founded in 1904, Benfica continues to use its commercial agreements to support youth development at the newly minted adidas Benfica Campus ahead of domestic and European fixtures at the country's largest stadium.
