Benfica Hosts FIFA Club World Cup Trophy Exhibition at Estádio da Luz
O Sport Lisboa e Benfica é o primeiro entre os 32 participantes do Mundial de Clubes da FIFA a receber o troféu criado de raiz para o torneio, que já esteve presente na Tribuna Presidencial do Estádio da Luz na passada sexta-feira, 17 de janeiro, durante o jogo com o Famalicão, da 18.ª jornada da Liga Betclic.
O evento tem novo capítulo neste sábado, 18 de janeiro, dia em que o troféu está em exposição na Benfica Official Store do Estádio da Luz (até às 15h00).
A casa-mãe do Glorioso é o palco da primeira paragem da Trophy Tour organizada pela FIFA para promover a competição, que decorrerá nos Estados Unidos da América entre os dias 14 de junho e 13 de julho de 2025.
Criado de raiz para a edição inaugural do Mundial de Clubes, o troféu é uma peça em ouro de 24 quilates e apresenta inscrições, gravadas a laser, das 211 federações-membros da FIFA, representações vívidas do futebol e textos em 13 línguas e braille, e a posição aproximada dos planetas nos dias 21 de maio de 1904 e 14 de junho de 2025, dia da fundação do organismo que rege o futebol mundial e do pontapé de saída do torneio, respetivamente.
O troféu, inspirado pela Tabela Periódica dos elementos químicos e pelos Discos de Ouro da missão espacial Voyager, tem como intenção unir o planeta e simboliza o passado, o presente e o futuro, preservando a tradição do futebol de clubes para as próximas gerações.
No futuro, o campeão de cada uma das edições do Mundial de Clubes receberá uma réplica desta peça com o seu nome e emblema gravados.
Nesta edição inaugural, o Benfica, recorde-se, está integrado no Grupo C e jogará frente a Boca Juniors (em Miami, a 15 de junho), Auckland City (em Orlando, a 20 junho) e Bayern Munique (em Charlotte, a 24 de junho).
