A 42-year-old man has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly murdering his 75-year-old mother by pushing her off the terrace of a building on April 15, 2026.
The victim, identified as Savithramma, was paralytic and had been bedridden for approximately four to five years. According to police reports, the accused carried his mother to the terrace of a four-storey building before pushing her off, resulting in her death on the spot.
Incident Details and Arrest
The incident occurred at a building located in the BEML Layout in RR Nagar, Bengaluru. The accused, identified as Venkatesh, worked as a sales executive and lived on the second floor of the building on rent with his family and his mother.
Police officials stated that they arrived at the scene after receiving information about the event. Following an initial probe and a confession from the suspect, Venkatesh was taken into custody.
During the investigation, Venkatesh reportedly told police that he committed the act because he couldn’t bear to see her suffer every day
and struggled to take care of her due to her medical condition.
Investigation Status
A case has been registered regarding the murder, and police are continuing their investigation. Officials are currently probing the possibility that other individuals may have been involved in the crime.
