Bengaluru and Delhi Schools Receive Bomb Threats, Sparking Widespread panic

Bengaluru and Delhi, India – A wave of fear swept through Bengaluru and Delhi on friday as numerous private schools received anonymous bomb threat emails, prompting immediate evacuations and extensive security operations. The incidents have raised serious concerns about school safety and the potential for widespread disruption.
Bengaluru on High Alert Following Email Threats
Early Friday morning, private schools across Bengaluru were targeted by a series of bomb threat emails. The anonymous messages caused significant alarm, with schools in various areas, including Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Kengeri, reportedly receiving the threats, according to India today.
In response to the alarming emails,the Bengaluru City Police swiftly deployed multiple teams to the affected institutions. Bomb Disposal Squad personnel were also pressed into service, conducting thorough checks of school premises to ensure the safety of students and staff. Inquiry teams are actively working to trace the origin of these threatening communications.
Delhi Schools Face Fourth Day of Threats This Week
The situation in Bengaluru mirrored a similar scare in the nation’s capital, Delhi, where approximately 45 schools received bomb threats on Friday. This marks the fourth day this week that schools in Delhi have been subjected to such alarming messages, leading to widespread panic among students, parents, and educators.
According to reports from the Press Trust of India (PTI), several schools across Delhi received these threats, including:
Summerfield International School in South Delhi
Maxfort Junior School and Guru Nanak School in Pitampura
St Thomas School
GD Goenka School and Dwarka International School in Dwarka
Richmond School in Paschim Vihar
Six schools in Rohini, specifically MRG School in Sector 3, Delhi Public School, Sovereign Public School, and Heritage Public School in Sector 24, INT Public school in Sector 9, and Abhinav Public School in Sector 3.
Upon receiving the threats, police, along with bomb disposal and dog squads, and the fire department, rushed to the various schools to initiate evacuation procedures and conduct necesary security checks.
Security Measures and Political Reactions
In a proactive measure, multiple security agencies conducted mock drills at 10 locations across Delhi on thursday to assess their readiness for any potential emergency situations.
The recurring threats have also drawn political commentary.Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi expressed her concern, stating, ”More than 20 schools have received bomb threats today! Think of the trauma that children, parents and teachers would be going through.” Her remarks highlight the emotional toll these incidents are taking on the school community. Authorities are continuing their investigations to identify the perpetrators and prevent future occurrences.
