Berkshire Health Systems Recognizes Outstanding Employee role, CARE Award Winners

PITTSFIELD — Berkshire Health Systems (BHS) recently honored several employees for their dedication and commitment too providing exceptional care. The annual CARE Awards, celebrating the health system’s core values, recognized seven individuals across Berkshire Medical center (BMC), Fairview Hospital, North Adams Regional Hospital (NARH), and affiliated provider practices. The awards highlight the vital employee role in upholding compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.
Maribeth Pomerantz, a certified nurse midwife at Berkshire OBGYN of BMC, and Dr. Adam Gicewicz, a pediatrician at Berkshire Health Pediatrics, were named Providers of the Year. Pomerantz was lauded for her personalized care for expectant mothers. Colleagues noted her willingness to go above and beyond to ensure timely visits and support for patients and their families.
Dr. Gicewicz was recognized for his ability to connect with children, easing their anxieties during doctor visits. His trademark colorful sneakers help him relate to patients of all ages, making their experience more agreeable, colleagues said.

- Randy wallingford, registered nurse in Behavioral Health at BMC
Beckwith’s colleagues praised her compassion and dedication to patient care, noting her profound impact on both patients and fellow staff. bentz was commended for his 36-year career in Environmental Services, exemplifying commitment, ethics, dependability, and hard work. Cyrulik was recognized as a seasoned team member at NARH, always willing to help with a positive attitude, especially in the emergency Department.
Henebury was honored for her investment in those she recruits, attending RN pinning ceremonies and meeting new hires during orientation. Losaw was celebrated for her patient-centered care, calm demeanor in tough situations, and advocacy for her patients’ needs. McCarroll was lauded as a hardworking, collaborative team player who ensures users have accurate data. Wallingford was recognized for his compassionate approach to patients and his enduring commitment to inclusive and excellent care.
