Remembering Bernadette (Bernie) Brogan: A Life Cherished in Fanad
It is indeed with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bernadette (bernie) Brogan, née O’Reilly, of Maoil Ruaidhe, Tamney, Fanad. Bernie passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her devoted family. Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
A Life Richly Lived and Deeply Loved
Bernie’s life was a testament to the enduring power of family, love, and community. She was a cherished partner to Patrick (Paddy) Fealty, and a loving mother to her daughters Diane (Shane) Brown of St.Johnston and Aisling (Jamie) Lord, who resides in England. Her son, john (Maria) Brogan of Carrigans, shared in her life’s journey.The light of her life shone brightest through her adored grandchildren: Madison, Oscar, Sienna, Genevieve, Rhys, Josh, and Sophia, who will carry her legacy forward.
Her life was also enriched by her siblings. She is deeply missed by her brother Patrick O’Reilly of New York, and her sisters Anne O’Hay of Derry and Bridget Curren, also of Derry. Bernie’s passing is also mourned by Raymond Brogan, Patrick (Tara) Fealty and their son patrick, and Gary (Danielle) Fealty. Her extended family, cherished neighbours, and a wide circle of friends will forever hold her in their hearts.
A Farewell to Bernie
Bernie’s remains will be reposing at her late residence in Maoil Ruaidhe, Tamney, Fanad, from 6pm on Sunday, July 27th. The community is invited to pay their respects during this time.
The funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, July 29th. Bernie’s remains will be removed from her residence at 10:40 am, arriving at St.Columba’s Church, Massmount, for an 11:00 am Requiem Mass. Following the service,a private cremation will be held.
For those who wish to express their sympathy, family flowers only are requested.Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, can be made to the Oncology Department at Letterkenny University Hospital. These can be given to any family member or directed through Mc Ateer Funeral directors.
We understand that many will wish to join in remembrance and prayer. The Requiem Mass will be available to view live on the Mc Ateer Funeral Directors Facebook page, allowing friends and family from afar to participate in this solemn occasion.
Bernie Brogan’s life was a lovely tapestry woven with love, kindness, and unwavering devotion.While we mourn her loss, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on our lives. May she rest in peace.
