Samsung has introduced the first direct discounts for the Galaxy S26 smartphone series in the United States, arriving approximately four weeks after the devices were released on March 11, 2026. These price reductions target customers who do not have an existing phone to trade in toward their purchase.

The discounts apply to the entire lineup across major retailers, including Amazon, Samsung and Best Buy. The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ have both been reduced by $100, bringing their prices to $799 and $899, respectively. According to Android Authority, these prices match the launch pricing of the previous Galaxy S25 series.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra has received a larger discount of $200. The unlocked 256GB storage model is now priced at $1,099.99, which is $100 lower than the launch price of the preceding S25 Ultra.

S26 Ultra Technical Specifications

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the most capable device in the current lineup and is the only model in the S26 series that supports and includes an S Pen stylus. It is equipped with a 6.9-inch 3120 x 1440 OLED screen capable of a 120Hz refresh rate.

A primary feature of the Ultra model is the Privacy Display, which is designed to block onlookers from viewing the screen when it is looked at from the side. For imaging, the device uses dual telephoto lenses to offer multiple optical zoom levels, allowing for crops without the addition of digital noise.

Trade-in and Carrier Incentives

While the direct discounts are available for those without trade-ins, separate promotional offers exist for users trading in older hardware. Samsung is offering trade-in credits that can reduce the cost of the Galaxy S26 Ultra by up to $720, which can bring the starting price down to $580.

Other retailers have implemented different incentive structures:

  • Best Buy is offering up to $900 off with eligible trade-ins.
  • Amazon is providing a $200 gift card with the purchase of a Galaxy S26 Ultra.
  • Verizon is offering the phone for free for customers who open a new line.

For customers purchasing from Samsung without a trade-in, the company is offering an additional $150 in Samsung credit to be used toward other devices and accessories.

Market Pricing Context

These April 7, 2026, discounts follow an initial price increase at the time of the series launch. The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ were both released at prices $100 higher than their 2025 equivalents. The current no-strings-attached discounts effectively return the base and Plus models to their previous year’s launch pricing.
