The victims were professional cattle traders and residents of Khao Phra Non Sub-District, Yang Talat District, Kalasin Province.
According to the police, the victims were last seen returning from Ban Han Cattle and Buffalo Market in Maha Sarakham Province. The police initially suspected that the murder might be related to a livestock trade conflict or robbery.
During the investigation, the police found a suspicious man, Mr. Chonnatee (last name reserved), 20, who was a resident of Khilek village, village no. 3, Kut Sai Cho sub-district, Kantharawichai district, Maha Sarakham province. After more than five hours of interrogation, Mr. Chonnatee confessed to the crime. He claimed that he had deceived the victims and killed them with the help of five or six other people. The motive behind the murder was to steal 100,000 baht and a gold necklace worth one baht.

Mr. Chonnatee claimed that he was in debt to a gang and was forced to rob the victims to pay off his debt. However, the police are still investigating the case and have not ruled out other motives.
The police are currently searching for the other suspects involved in the murder and are working to uncover the truth behind the crime.
