Between the Sticks: Can We Finally Find a Solution to the Goalkeeper Conundrum
Keylor Navas Offers to Join Barcelona Amid Goalkeeper Crisis
Former Real Madrid Goalkeeper Seeks Regular Playing Time
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Keylor Navas, the former Costa Rican national team goalkeeper, is willing to join Barcelona, a former rival club of his previous team, Real Madrid.
Barcelona is currently facing a goalkeeper crisis, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the German national team goalkeeper, suffering a severe right knee ligament injury that requires surgery. Ter Stegen is expected to be out for the remainder of the season.
Navas, 37, is currently an unattached player after parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season. He previously played for Real Madrid from 2014 to 2019 and is now seeking regular playing time.
The report states that Navas has offered to join Barcelona, with the condition that he wants to play regularly. He is not seeking a high salary, as his primary goal is to continue playing in top European competitions.
Additionally, there are reports that Claudio Bravo, a 41-year-old former Chilean national team goalkeeper and former Barcelona player, has also offered to return to the club to help with the goalkeeper crisis. Bravo had announced his retirement last September.
