[이코노미스트 김윤주 기자] Malaysia’s Ministry of Health publicly criticized the song ‘Apartment’ by girl group Blackpink’s Rosé and Bruno Mars. This is because the lyrics are unhealthy, such as describing the apartment as a place of temptation.
Malaysia’s Ministry of Health pointed out on its official Facebook account, “In Rosé and Bruno Mars’ apartment song, the expression ‘apartment’ is used as a place of temptation, which normalizes behavior in the song that conflicts with the values of Eastern culture.”
The Ministry of Health emphasized, “What is even more concerning is that this song is frequently used in social networking service (SNS) videos and is permeating our daily lives,” adding, “There is a possibility that children in particular may sing along to these lyrics unconsciously.”
In particular, the Ministry of Health said, ‘Send a kissing face emoticon, but I actually want to kiss your lips’ (Kissy face, kissy face. Sent to your phone but, I’m trying to kiss your lips for real), ‘Apartment turned into a club’ Let’s make it. They claimed that parts such as ‘Turn this APT into a club. I’m talking drink, dance, smoke, freak, party all night’ were problematic.
However, some netizens are finding it difficult to agree with this criticism of the Malaysian Ministry of Health. Netizens expressed opinions such as “I didn’t think that way,” and “It’s just a word that appears in the game.”
