Jay-Z Disses Kanye West During Surprise Paris Performance with beyoncé
Updated June 23, 2025
Beyoncé and Jay-Z, a power couple in the music industry, delivered a surprise performance together in Paris on the final night of the international leg of Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour. The crowd at Stade de France erupted as Jay-Z joined his wife on stage.
during his solo performance, Jay-Z subtly addressed Kanye West’s previous online rant where he attacked their twins, Rumi and Sir Carter. The rapper altered the lyrics to his 2011 hit “N-gg-s in Paris,” a song he originally released with West.
The moment occurred during Jay-Z’s performance of “N-gg-s in paris,” a track from the collaborative album “Watch The Throne.” Rather of singing “Ball so hard,b-tches behave,” Jay-Z changed the line to “Just might let you meet Bey,” replacing “Ye” with his wife’s name. This lyrical switch was quickly picked up by fans online, who interpreted it as a direct jab at West.
The performance marked the first time in seven years that Beyoncé and Jay-Z have shared the stage. Beyoncé introduced her husband before they performed their 2003 hit, “Crazy in Love.” Jay-Z, dressed in all black, rapped as Beyoncé, also in black with bedazzled pants and chaps, danced alongside him. After their duet, they exchanged kisses before Jay-Z continued with his solo set.

The altered lyrics didn’t go unnoticed. “You see, he’s over Kanye & his mess, he changed the lyrics,” one fan wrote on X. Another user supported the jab, writing, “Don’t blame it. Talk about my damn kids you dead to me. Forever!”
The Paris performance follows months after West’s online attacks against Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children. In a since-deleted rant on X,West made disturbing comments about Sir and Rumi, questioning if anyone had seen them and making offensive remarks about artificial insemination.
West later defended his controversial post, claiming it paled in comparison to his antisemitic rants and calling it one of his ”best or the strongest” tweets.

In previous online posts, West addressed his feud with beyoncé and Jay-Z, expressing feeling like the “black sheep” and lamenting their lack of support. He cited instances such as jay-Z not attending his first wedding and feeling excluded from certain events.
West later apologized to jay-Z, stating, “I’m sorry Jay Z. I be feeling bad about my tweet, but I still feel I gave my life to this industry and thought so many people were my family, but when I needed family on some real sh-t,none of these rap n-s had my back.”
What’s next
It remains to be seen how Kanye West will respond to Jay-Z’s lyrical jab, but fans are already anticipating a reaction from the controversial artist.
