The Universe of the Bible Expands with New TV Projects
The Chosen One, a historical drama series based on the life of Jesus, is expanding its universe with several new TV projects. Author Dallas Jenkins revealed the projects at the ChosenCon fan convention in Orlando, including an animated series, an unscripted adventure series, and a three-season series following the lives of Moses and Joseph.
Chosen Adventure: An Animated Series
Chosen Adventure is a 14-part animated series that follows nine-year-old Abby in the Galilean city of Capernaum around the year 30. The series explores Abby’s curiosity and questions as she navigates her life in ancient Israel. The voice cast includes Paul Walter Hauser, Yvonne Orji, Jordin Sparks, and Jonathan Roumie, among others.
Chosen from the Wild with Bear Grylls: An Unscripted Adventure Series
Chosen from the Wild with Bear Grylls is a six-part unscripted adventure series produced by The Natural Studios in collaboration with Jenkins’ 5&2 Studios. The series stars Bear Grylls, who takes an immersive journey with the cast and creators of The Chosen One. In each episode, Grylls goes on an adventure into the wild with one cast member, exploring their personal story and delving deeper into their own perspective on the series and the characters they portray.
New Projects in Development
Jenkins’ production company, 5&2 Studios, is also developing several new projects, including a three-season series following the story of Moses, a limited series on the life of Joseph, and a sequel to The Chosen One, titled Acts of the Apostles.
