randolph Howard Jr. Assumes COO Role at Beth Israel Needham

Randolph “randy” Howard Jr. has been appointed chief operating officer at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham, Mass. His extensive background positions him to significantly impact hospital operations and strategic initiatives.
Howard joins Beth Israel Deaconess from Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, Mass. Both hospitals are part of the Beth Israel Lahey Health system, based in Cambridge, Mass. His career spans more than 30 years in healthcare leadership, including two decades in the U.S. Army, providing a solid foundation for his new role.
Before his tenure within the Beth Israel Lahey Health network, Howard served as COO of St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, a 296-bed facility in Smithtown, N.Y. He also held leadership positions at Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, N.Y., including deputy executive director and COO of Huntington Hospital. Additionally,he was the system’s senior vice president for corporate facilities services. Howard spearheaded Huntington Hospital’s COVID-19 response and established Northwell’s Office of Military and Veterans Liaison Services.
