Biden Sounds Alarm: ‘Boost Budget Support Now’ Amid Trump, Secret Service Briefing
Trump Meets with Secret Service Director After Assassination Attempt
About 50 days before the US presidential election, former President Donald Trump, who escaped a second assassination attempt, met with the head of the Secret Service on the afternoon of the 16th (local time).
As the ‘Attempt to assassinate Trump’ event has once again emerged as a variable in the upcoming November presidential election, President Joe Biden has begun to block the spread of the spark, saying that Congress should increase the budget of the Secret Service.
Former President Trump met with Acting Director of the Secret Service, Ronald Law Jr. at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on this day and discussed the assassination attempt that occurred the previous day and security issues.
After completing the meeting, Acting Director Lo said that former President Trump was aware that he was receiving the highest level of security (protection).
Acting Director Lo will remain in Florida while the investigation into the assassination attempt continues, US media reported.
Earlier, former President Trump said on his social media account, “Most importantly, the Secret Service of the United States, the Secret Service includes Sheriff Rick Bradshaw and his brave and dedicated patriots, and all law enforcement agencies this law today at Trump International Golf Club to protect the American nation.” “I want to thank you for the incredible job you have done to keep me safe as the 45th President and Republican candidate in the upcoming presidential election,” he said.
He expressed his gratitude, saying, “What you’ve done is truly amazing,” and “I’m very proud to be an American.”
However, as the assassination attempt on former President Trump reoccurs two months after he was shot during an outdoor campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, controversy over the poor security of the Secret Service is expected to become inevitable.
Meanwhile, President Biden told reporters as he left the White House that day, “The Secret Service needs more support,” and “I think Congress should respond to the needs of the Secret Service.”
He added, “I’m thankful to God that the President (Trump) is right.”
President Biden said in a statement the day before that he had directed “to continue to have all resources, capabilities, and protective measures necessary to ensure the safety of former President Trump.”
