Biden and his Vice President, Kamala Harris, met on Monday with the negotiating team for efforts to reach a cease-fire agreement between Israel and the Hamas movement in Gaza, the White House said in a statement.
The recent killing of six hostages, whose bodies were recovered by Israeli forces on Sunday, underscores the urgent need to reach an agreement to end the fighting in Gaza and release the remaining prisoners, according to National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.
Kirby emphasized that “Hamas is responsible for their deaths” and stressed the importance of completing this matter as soon as possible.
