Bienpesca Card Renewal Begins March 9th in Mexico
The National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries (Conapesca) will begin the renewal process for Banco del Bienestar cards associated with the Bienpesca program on March 9th, 2026, and continue through March 22nd, 2026. This renewal is a mandatory step for all beneficiaries seeking to receive their annual financial support.
The renewal applies to all individuals who were registered in the 2025 program, even if their current cards are not yet expired, according to Conapesca.
Specific dates, times, and locations for the renewal process will be announced shortly through official Conapesca channels and the Programas para el Bienestar website.
The process will be conducted by Conapesca in collaboration with the Delegations of Programas para el Bienestar across all 32 Mexican states.
To receive the renewed card, individuals must present the original and a copy of their voter ID (credencial de elector) along with recent proof of address.
Conapesca emphasizes that the renewal process is direct, free of charge, and does not involve any intermediaries. Anyone offering to expedite the delivery or annual payment for a fee is engaging in fraudulent activity. Individuals can report suspected fraud anonymously via the hotline 800-PESCADEN or through WhatsApp at 669 915 6915.
The Bienpesca program aims to strengthen the production capabilities of small-scale fishermen, and aquaculturists. It provides an annual economic support of 7,500 pesos, directly deposited onto the card of eligible beneficiaries, and also includes training opportunities.
The government, under the leadership of President Claudia Sheinbaum, is promoting this program to improve conditions for communities dedicated to fishing and aquaculture, fulfilling the constitutional mandate to support those engaged in these small-scale activities.
