Big 12 Football Weekly Awards

Kansas’ Devin Neal, Arizona State’s Javan Robinson, Oklahoma State’s Maealiuaki Smith, and West Virginia’s Oliver Straw received the Big 12’s weekly football awards for their outstanding performances.

Devin Neal (Offensive Player of the Week)

Neal excelled in Kansas’ 37-21 win against then-No. 16 Colorado. He rushed for 207 yards, caught passes for 80 yards, and scored four touchdowns. This game marked his career-high of 37 carries and his second time surpassing the 200-yard rushing mark. His 287 total yards ranked third among Power Four running backs this season. Neal is the all-time rushing leader for Kansas.

Javan Robinson (Defensive Player of the Week)

Robinson played a crucial role in Arizona State’s 28-23 victory over then-No. 14 BYU. He secured a game-winning interception late in the fourth quarter and returned it 64 yards. He also tallied five tackles, helping Arizona State maintain a tie for first in the Big 12 standings. This win marked Arizona State’s first undefeated home season in 20 years.

Maealiuaki Smith (Newcomer of the Week)

In his first game, Smith completed 74.3% of his passes for 316 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for a 13-yard touchdown. Smith became the fifth true freshman this season to throw for over 300 yards in a game, making his 316 yards the second-most by an Oklahoma State player in a debut.

Oliver Straw (Special Teams Player of the Week)

Straw had a standout game for West Virginia, punting four times for 200 yards. His longest punt was 57 yards. He also had two punts downed inside the 20-yard line. This season, Straw has punted 31 times, allowing only one touchback.
