Big Freedia Announces Gospel Album ‘Pressing Onward’

New orleans bounce artist Big‍ Freedia is venturing into gospel ⁣music ‌with her upcoming album, “Pressing Onward.” The ⁣album, scheduled for release Aug. 8, will‌ feature collaborations ⁣with Billy Porter and Tamar Braxton.

Freedia shared on Instagram that the album⁢ initially aimed to bring healing to the world‍ but has now become a source of strength for her personally. She ⁣said she poured her⁢ heart into every aspect of the music and is relying on support from‍ loved ones⁣ to move ⁣forward.

The album’s title, ⁢”Pressing Onward,” serves⁤ as a tribute ‌to Freedia’s late partner, Devon, who recently passed away.⁣ Freedia said that Devon’s sudden death changed everything, and‍ the‌ album’s message of healing is now something she holds onto⁤ for strength.

“Pressing Onward” includes 14 tracks, such as “All I Need,” ⁣”Pew,” “Let It Rain,” and ‍”Praise Dance.” Billy Porter is featured on “holy Shuffle,” while Tamar Braxton appears on “Sunday Best.”
