Big Thief Announces ‘Double Infinity’ Album, New Single

New York-based indie rock band Big Thief is gearing up to release their sixth studio album, Double Infinity, on Sept. 5. The album, distributed via 4AD, marks a new chapter for the band as their first release as a trio.
Double Infinity arrives as the highly anticipated follow-up to their Grammy-nominated album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You.The nine-track album was recorded at Power Station in New York City over three weeks, with nine-hour recording sessions alongside frequent collaborator Dom Monks.
Alongside the album declaration, Big Thief has released the lead single, “Incomprehensible.” The song had already become a fan favorite during the band’s 2024 summer tour and Adrianne Lenker’s solo performances.
the upcoming Double Infinity’s release follows several recent projects from Big Thief members. In February, the band released the Passional Relations EP to benefit those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. The EP featured previously unreleased tracks.
Lenker released Live at Revolution Hall in April, and drummer James Krivchenia released Performing Belief in early May.The band also announced the Somersault Slide 360 Tour, scheduled to begin in September.
Big Thief initially formed in 2015 after Adrianne Lenker and guitarist Buck Meek spent two years performing as a duo. Their third album, 2019’s U.F.O.F., reached No.142 on the Billboard 200. Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in you peaked at No. 31 and earned Grammy nominations.
