SAN JOSE,Calif.— BILL, a financial operations platform for small and midsize businesses, announced Monday that Mike Cieri has been appointed as executive vice president and general manager of Software Solutions.
Cieri to spearhead Software Strategy
cieri will be a member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to René Lacerte, CEO and founder of BILL. He will be responsible for leading and driving the company’s software strategy across the BILL platform.
“Software is at the heart of our BILL innovation agenda,” Lacerte said. “It’s the ‘front door’ for how we deliver technology for almost half a million businesses that is both easy to use, and transformative.”

Cieri’s Extensive Experience
Cieri brings more than 20 years of software strategy and product growth experience to BILL. He has a background as an engineer and a customer-focused product leader, scaling technology teams to address SMB needs.
Before joining BILL, Cieri served as chief product officer at Gusto, were he scaled the company’s product platform for payroll, benefits, and HR. He also held the role of vice president of product management at Opendoor, developing products and resources related to home ownership.
Prior to Opendoor,Cieri spent more than seven years at Square,holding general manager and head of product roles. He helped lead product development and expand Square from a single product to a multi-product ecosystem for SMBs.
