Jay Leno‘s Latest Tumble Sparks Conspiracy Theories, jokes on Bill Maher’s Podcast

Comedian Jay Leno’s recent fall down a hill in Pennsylvania has sparked some lighthearted conspiracy theories, with fellow comedian Bill Maher jokingly suggesting mob involvement.

Leno, known for his love of cars and motorcycles, appeared on Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, where the host brought up a recent National Enquirer story about the incident. The tabloid suggested Leno’s string of recent accidents, including a serious burn injury from a car fire and a motorcycle crash, might be linked to unpaid gambling debts.

“Did you see what the Enquirer said about yoru spill?” Maher asked Leno. “Well, it’s a conspiracy theory, since you’ve had three accidents, that you actually have gambling debts, and you’re being beaten up by the mob.”

leno,ever the quick wit,responded with a chuckle,”I love the idea that the mob would drive to greenburg,Pennsylvania,wait outside the Hampton Inn on kind of a sleety,rainy day to throw me down the hill.”

Maher playfully countered, “That’s not what they’re saying; please don’t mischaracterize the Enquirer. They’re saying ‘throw you down the hill’ was your cover story, and they just beat you up like the mob always does.”

The latest incident occurred last month when Leno took a tumble down a 60-70 foot hill while walking to a restaurant near his Pennsylvania hotel. The fall resulted in a bruised face and a black eye, but the resilient comedian still performed a gig a couple of hours later before seeking medical attention.

“the great thing about this age is you don’t learn by your mistakes. You keep doing the same stupid thing,” Leno joked to TMZ at the time.

This marks Leno’s third major accident in recent years. In November 2022, he suffered third-degree burns on his face and upper body after a car fire in his garage. He spent weeks in the ICU recovering from the incident.

Then, in January 2023, Leno was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him with multiple broken bones and another facial injury.

Despite the string of unfortunate events, Leno maintains his trademark humor, even joking about needing a new face after each accident.
