Meghan Trainor delivered a humorous and heartfelt speech upon accepting the Hitmaker Award from madison ⁢Beer. “Writing songs is my main source of serotonin, ‍along with my children, Riley and Barry, and my husband, Daryl,” she said.⁣ Speaking candidly about her songwriting process, she‌ added: “I write these songs for myself because I am insecure‍ and⁤ I ⁤go to therapy. I am taking medications … I love my therapist very much; I am probably seeing‌ me. Ask for ⁤help⁣ is the only reason why I am here.”

Tyla, after being introduced by Becky G, performed her hit song “Water.” ⁤ Accepting‌ bose’s Impact Award, ⁢Tyla‍ reflected on her global success. “I left my country with great dreams ‌and thought I ​had​ more time to fulfill them. But when my⁤ career took off, I realized that‌ God has his own plans,” she said before⁣ teasing new music.

“His influence has felt throughout the world this year,” said ⁢Kali Uchis by presenting Jennie,who ‍received ‍the rightly appointed ⁣Global force Award. “All women inspire me in this room,and around ⁢the world,who continue to break ​barriers ‍and leave their mark on⁣ the world stage,” jennie said. “This award is dedicated to each​ woman who dares to dream,create and mold the world with her⁣ vision.”

Erykah Badu was presented with the Music Icon Award by Walker, who revealed Badu was the doula for Walker’s twins. Walker described Badu as her idol and mentor since the age of 12, highlighting her “intrepid art.” A video presentation showcased Badu’s influence on numerous artists.

“As an artist,” Badu said,”I never thought⁣ my work was limiting myself to a single⁣ category.”

Doechii Reflects ⁢on rising Star Award

Doechii, after being introduced by collaborators Jayda Love and DJ Miss Milan, accepted the 2025 Women’s Prize. She reflected on ⁢winning the Billboard ​Rising Star award two years prior.

“I cannot believe that only two years ago I was in this same stage and I accepted the Billboard Rising Star (ascent star).Literally, ⁣I had acted so intensely that I⁤ danced until I broke my shoes and I had to jump into the ‌microphone,” Doechii recalled about her ​2023 ‌performance. “And ⁣here I am. That moment reflects how I approach my career: always ‌giving everything, always going ​hard and always being fabulous.”
