Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell Support Kamala Harris in US Election
American recording artist Billie Eilish has announced her support for Kamala Harris in the US presidential election. She shared her decision with her fans through Instagram, emphasizing the importance of exercising their right to vote.
Alongside her brother Finneas O’Connell, a singer, songwriter, and actor, the two artists called on everyone to participate in the democratic process. “It’s like your life depends on it,” they urged their followers.
In a video clip, Eilish and O’Connell explained why they support the Democratic Party’s candidate, Kamala Harris, and Tim Walz as Vice President. “They are protecting reproductive freedom, the environment, and our democracy,” Eilish stated. O’Connell added, ”We cannot allow extremists to control our lives, our freedoms, and our future.”
Their announcement coincided with US National Voter Registration Day, a non-partisan initiative aimed at encouraging citizens to register and exercise their right to vote.
Eilish and O’Connell are not the only celebrities to support Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Taylor Swift, Robert De Niro, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Charlie XCX have also publicly endorsed the Democratic duo.
In contrast, Donald Trump’s team has received support from celebrities like Kanye West, Kid Rock, and Elon Musk.
While it is common for celebrities to publicly reveal their voting preferences in the US, the impact of their endorsements on voters’ decisions remains a topic of debate.
