Biogen and Denali Therapeutics announced on May 21, 2026, that an experimental therapy designed to treat Parkinson’s disease failed to slow the progression of the degenerative brain disorder in a randomized trial. The study involved 648 adults living with Parkinson’s disease. Participants were randomized to receive either a placebo or a medication specifically targeting a protein known as LRRK2.
