Bipolar Mother Tiger and Mustachioed Wonder Husband: Budapest Story
If someone were to dismissively assume that The Housemaid – A Home for Madness didn’t originate from the mind of a brain surgeon, I must partially disappoint them: its author, Sara Cohen, writing under the name Freida mcfadden, is a doctor by training, specifically specializing in brain injuries. Cohen began writing as a hobby in childhood and, as an adult, specialized in twisty, easily digestible, and popular thrillers. She writes approximately four books a year. She has sold nearly twenty million books in total, some in electronic format.
How a brain doctor manages to write four books a year, practice medicine, and generally live her life is a recurring question in interviews with her, in which Cohen always seems as if she’s wearing at least a wig and fake glasses. The photos of her are blurry, overly digital, and retouched. The whole thing is at least as mysterious as McFadden’s novels, which have also been published in Hungarian translation here. A Home for Madness was followed by A Home for Revenge, and then A Home for Secrets.
The thriller based on her biggest success also wants to be at least as mysterious. The film begins quiet by chance with Sydney Sweeney’s character putting on glasses to pretend to be someone else. Sweeney plays Millie Calloway, the recurring protagonist of the novel series, who doesn’t yet know she’s ringing the doorbell of a home for madness as she applies for a newly advertised position with the Winchester family.
Where everything seems idyllic: the stay-at-home mother, nina (amanda Seyfried), runs the household, the little girl goes to ballet, and the charming brown-eyed, rich, perfect father (Brandon Sklenar) is a pillar of calm even when things don’t go as they should. Musz

Hungary Launches National Cybersecurity Training Program
The Hungarian government announced a nationwide cybersecurity training initiative on Wednesday, aiming to bolster the country’s defenses against increasingly elegant cyberattacks. The program will offer free courses to citizens and businesses, focusing on practical skills to identify and mitigate online threats.
According to a press release from the ministry of Interior, the program addresses a critical skills gap identified in a recent national security assessment. “We’ve seen a important rise in ransomware attacks and phishing schemes targeting both public and private sectors,” stated Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér during a press conference. “This training is a vital step in empowering our citizens and organizations to protect themselves.”
Program Details
- Target Audience: All Hungarian citizens and businesses.
- Course content: Includes modules on password security, phishing awareness, malware detection, data privacy, and safe online practices.
- Delivery Method: Online courses, supplemented by in-person workshops in major cities.
- Certification: Participants who complete the program will receive a nationally recognized cybersecurity certification.
- Funding: The program is funded by the European Union’s Digital europe Programme and the Hungarian national budget.
A number of cybersecurity experts have praised the initiative. “Investing in cybersecurity education is essential in today’s threat landscape,” saeid Dr. István szabó, a cybersecurity professor at Eötvös Loránd University, in a statement to Telex.hu. “This program has the potential to significantly improve Hungary’s overall cybersecurity posture.”
Sources say the government is also working on legislation to strengthen cybersecurity regulations for critical infrastructure providers. Details of the proposed legislation are expected to be released next month.
Registration for the cybersecurity training program is now open on the Ministry of Interior’s website: https://www.kormany.hu/cybersecuritytraining
