Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona forced their way into Ricochet’s faction, The Demand, by refusing to be left out of the group, according to Bishop Kaun. The Gates of Agony tag team members monitored Ricochet as he cut televised promos seeking backup for a new stable, deciding to insert themselves into the plans instead of waiting for backstage creative decisions.

How The Gates of Agony Claimed Their Spot in The Demand

Kaun explained on the Certified Mark Show that he and Liona evaluated the AEW roster to identify potential members for Ricochet’s faction before concluding the opportunity belonged to them. The duo recognized that every television match carried high stakes because they felt undervalued after years with the company. During one of their tag team matches, Ricochet observed from the commentary desk. Kaun and Liona delivered a statement performance to prove they belonged by his side.

Certified Mark Show

Fortunately, we were having tag matches at that time, and we just go, every time to wrestle, our backs are against the wall. We can’t mess up. We have to show it every single time. We feel like we have—still are not respected after being here for how many years.

After heading to the back following the match, a producer posted a sign confirming that Ricochet wanted the duo in the group because they impressed him. Kaun stated that original creative plans likely slated two other wrestlers for the spots, but he and Liona stepped over them to secure their places.

Original Plans and Roster Integration for The Demand

When the host of the Certified Mark Show asked for the identities of the two original choices, Kaun declined to provide specifics. However, he offered a lighthearted hint that the initial creative direction ultimately merged with the current lineup. According to Kaun, those initial choices ended up in the faction anyway.

I mean, I think they’re in our group right now, actually, too. So, I mean, it doesn’t matter. Everyone ended up in the same place.

Through persistence and in-ring intensity, Kaun and Liona solidified The Demand as a dominant force alongside Ricochet. WrestlingAttitude.com provides continuous coverage of roster developments and backstage news.
