The Bismarck Bobcats advanced to the NAHL Central Division Championship series after defeating the Aberdeen Wings in the fifth and final game of their best-of-five series on April 28, 2025.

Bismarck secured the victory with a 5-3 win in the deciding game, which took place in Bismarck, North Dakota. The result ended the 2024-25 season for the Aberdeen Wings, who were eliminated from the Robertson Cup Playoffs in the Central Division Semifinals.

Game Five Breakdown

The match began with a scoreless first period. Both teams increased their offensive production in the second period, with the Bobcats and Wings each scoring three goals to leave the game tied heading into the final frame.

The Bobcats broke the deadlock in the third period. Josh Lehto scored the go-ahead goal with less than five minutes remaining in the game. Keanu Krenn, who had already scored once, added a second goal to secure the win for Bismarck.

The Bobcats scored twice in the final period, a sequence that included an empty-net goal to finalize the 5-3 score.

Path to the Division Finals

Following the series victory over Aberdeen, the Bismarck Bobcats moved forward to face the Austin Bruins in the next round of the Robertson Cup Playoffs.

Entering the matchup against the Bruins, the Bobcats held a strong regular-season record of 6-2 against them. The first two games of the championship series were scheduled for Friday and Saturday night in Bismarck.
