What is a Black Moon?

This occurs when a second new moon appears within a single calendar month, a relatively infrequent occurrence. The most recent instance was observed in April 2024, and another is anticipated in august 2025.
Unlike a full moon, a new moon is invisible to the naked eye, as the side facing Earth is not illuminated by the sun. Therefore, a black moon represents a period of increased darkness, both literally and symbolically for some.
