“Black Myth: Wukong” has seen considerable success, with over 25 million copies sold as of Jan. 31, 2025. Its initial absence from Xbox Series X/S was noteworthy, especially since it was never explicitly announced as a platform exclusive.
While some sources suggested a Sony exclusivity deal caused the delay, Fen Ji, head of developer Game Science, reportedly attributed the hold-up to the Xbox Series S. Ji cited the console’s 10GB of shared memory as a challenge, stating it was “really hard to make work” without extensive optimization.
It now appears those technical hurdles have been overcome, allowing Xbox gamers access to the highly anticipated action RPG.
What’s next
With the game’s release on xbox Series X/S, even more players will soon be able to experience the world of “Black Myth: Wukong.” Pre-orders begin June 18.
