The Genesis of dining With Deb
“Dining With Deb” was founded by Deb Augustine, President and CEO of Corporate Playbook, a New Orleans-based consulting firm dedicated to the advancement of women. The concept centers around creating intentional spaces for Black women to connect, collaborate, and celebrate their achievements as reported by EBONY.
Augustine explained the core beliefs behind the events: “It’s a gathering…We use dining as we always have a meal. It could be a cocktail reception with light bites. It might very well be a sit-down lunch, but always a meal as we think breaking bread with women is good,” she told EBONY.”It creates community and we’re always trying to celebrate women in a way that we introduce something new, something different, something captivating and something fun.”
A Vineyard Gathering: Sisterhood and Celebration
The most recent “dining With Deb” event unfolded in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, on August 27, 2025. this location holds important cultural importance as a long-standing summer destination for the Black community according to the New York Times. The event featured women-owned vendors,curated food experiences,and live music,fostering a vibrant atmosphere of sisterhood and support.

A highlight of the event was the debut performance by the String Queens, a string quartet dedicated to performing classical, jazz, and contemporary music by Black composers as detailed on their official website.
