Johnson Memorial Hospital Opens New Ambulatory Care Center in Enfield, CT

ENFIELD, Conn. – Johnson Memorial Hospital marked the opening of the S. Prestley and Helen Blake Ambulatory Care Center on June 26 with a blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new ambulatory care center enhances outpatient surgical services and diagnostic imaging capabilities for residents of northern Connecticut and western Massachusetts.
The S. Prestley and Helen Blake Ambulatory Care Center, located at 140 Hazard Ave., spans 42,000 square feet. The facility includes four operating rooms, two procedure rooms, and 20 pre- and post-operative bays for outpatient surgical services. Diagnostic imaging services available are CT scans, X-rays, mammography, bone density scans, and ultrasounds.
Dr. Robert Roose, president of Community hospitals for Trinity Health Of New england, emphasized the center’s patient-centered design. “This facility allows us to better serve residents… by improving access to high-quality care in a convenient location,” Roose said. He also acknowledged the financial support from Trinity Health and major donors, including the Blake family.
S. Prestley Blake and his wife, Helen, were longtime supporters of Johnson Memorial Hospital. Their $10 million contribution, the largest single gift dedicated to Johnson, funded the ambulatory care center named in their honor. The new center plays a vital role in the hospital’s role in providing thorough ambulatory care and enhanced diagnostic imaging to the community.
