Minecraft: The Movie – A Blockbuster Adaptation of the World’s Best-Selling Game
The world’s best-selling game, Minecraft, is set to be made into a movie for the first time. The movie, titled “Minecraft: The Movie,” will be released in Japan in 2025, and a teaser trailer and visual have also been released.
Since its official release in 2011, Minecraft has been immensely popular among both adults and children. The game, commonly known as Minecraft, is set in a virtual space made up of 3D blocks called worlds, where players can collect 3D blocks and enjoy building and adventures. It has been released on a variety of platforms, and in 2014 it was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the “world’s best-selling indie game,” with global sales exceeding 300 million copies in 2023.
The director who will be adapting the infinitely imaginable, anything-goes world of Minecraft into a film is Jared Hess, who has worked on films such as Nacho Libre.
The cast includes Jason Momoa as Garrett, a long-haired man in a pink jacket, Emma Myers as a character whose relationship to Garrett is not revealed, Danielle Brooks as another character, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen as a third character. Jack Black will play the role of Steve, a mysterious, shaggy-bearded man in a light blue shirt.
The movie “Minecraft: The Movie” will be released nationwide in 2025.
