Blood Incantation Documentary to Screen Nationwide at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Denver-based death metal band Blood Incantation has partnered with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema for a nationwide event featuring the screening of the band’s new documentary, ALL GATES OPEN: IN SEARCH OF ABSOLUTE ELSEWHERE.

The event is scheduled for May 20, 2026, and will take place across 26 Alamo Drafthouse locations throughout the United States.

The collaboration is designed as a one-night exclusive fan event that aligns with the band’s stated ethos of providing cosmic music for cosmic people.

The documentary, ALL GATES OPEN: IN SEARCH OF ABSOLUTE ELSEWHERE, provides an immersive examination of the band’s creative process. Specifically, the film focuses on the recording sessions that took place in 2023 at Hansa Studios in Berlin.

The film captures the production of the project Absolute Elsewhere and documents the band’s musical transition. It traces their evolution from their beginnings as pioneers of atmospheric death metal into a more expansive and cosmic musical direction.

The cinema event includes additional programmed content beyond the main feature. Each screening will be preceded by a 20-minute pre-show presentation featuring the band’s music video for The Stargate.

Following the documentary, attendees will be able to participate in a live Q&A session. This session will be broadcast from the Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake location in Denver to the other participating cinemas nationwide.

Blood Incantation described the production of the album and the subsequent effort to document it as an immense undertaking.

The creation of ‘Absolute Elsewhere’ was truly a monumental process – taking several years and dozens of people to manifest it – and to see the results of its ambition continue to blossom is truly humbling. Being huge fans of music documentaries ourselves, we knew at the outset that any attempt to capture this project fully would require a workload of epic proportions.
