Bloodied but Unbroken: Kabatia Mourns Its Fallen Heroes in the Wake of Israeli Incursion
Thousands Mourn Palestinian Martyrs Killed in Israeli Military Operation
Thousands of Palestinians gathered to mourn the bodies of three martyrs killed by the Israeli army in a military operation that lasted several hours on Thursday in Qabatia town of Jenin governorate, north of the occupied West Bank.
Funeral processions for the bodies of the martyrs left their homes, and mourners wandered through the streets and alleys of the city, attended by cadres of Palestinian factions, before they were buried.
Mourners waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans condemning Israeli violations, while fighters fired into the air to express anger and demand revenge.
Desecration of the Bodies of the Martyrs at Kabatia
The occupying forces desecrated the bodies of three martyrs in the city of Qabatia, where soldiers climbed onto the roof of a house in the city where three young men were martyred and carried the martyrs one by one and threw them off the roof. An Israeli military bulldozer then picked up the bodies and transported them before impounding them.
Earlier, the occupying forces conducted a sweeping operation around the besieged house.
On Thursday, the Palestinian news agency “Wafa” announced that 7 people were killed by Israeli occupation army bullets during a military operation in Qabatiya, where the army seized four bodies before withdrawing 10 hours later.
Rising Death Toll in the Occupied West Bank
In addition, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Friday that the total number of martyrs in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023 by the Israeli occupying army and settlers has reached 716 civilians, including 160 children.
The ministry noted in a statement that “the martyrs included 10 women, 9 elderly and 160 children.”
