The Birmingham Police Department confirmed that officers were at the scene, where multiple people had been shot, and there may have been multiple casualties. However, no suspects have been arrested at this stage, and investigators speculate that there may be multiple gunmen involved.
Birmingham police officer Truman Fitzgerald stated that upon arrival, officers found two men and one woman who had been shot and were unresponsive. “We believe that multiple gunmen fired multiple shots at a group of people.” Dozens of people were injured to varying degrees at the scene, and multiple law enforcement agencies are assisting in investigating the case.
