In Senegal, the legislative campaign is taking a different turn and promises an uncertain tomorrow. And for good reason. The parade of candidate Ousmane Sonko, leader of the Pastef Les Patriotes party, was violently attacked. The election will be held on November 17.

The attack on the procession caused injuries and material damage. The attack happened when Ousmane Sonko was already leaving the area with his caravan. And it was under these circumstances that stone throwing arose. Malick Gakou is suffering from a compound fracture in his left arm. Following x-ray examinations carried out at Kaffrine hospital, doctors confirmed the severity of his injury, which was caused by a projectile that hit Sonko’s car.

The campaign caravan of Sonko, head of the Pastef coalition list, was targeted by unknown assailants. This attack injured a number of people, including Malick Gakou, who is currently in hospital for treatment.

In response, Pastefians looted a vehicle from the opposing camp, which bore the image of a candidate for the legislative elections from the Takku Wallu coalition.
